Morrissey Lightbox by Gavin Evans, 1997

Photographed in London, 1997 for Time Out magazine, this A2 Lightbox print features six black and white studio portraits of Scottich actor David Tennant.

Shot against a white background, the images show a young Tennant at the beginning of his career. The portraits are dynamic, showing clear variations in body language and expression across the sequence. The set offers an early visual record of the actor’s presence and physical awareness.

Part of The Lightbox Series – The Bigger Picture, the format illustrates the influence of the photographer throughout the sitting, with each frame adding to the portrait narrative.
