Method Man #1 — A3 Fine Art Print by Gavin Evans, London 1997
Photographed in London, April 1997 for Time Out magazine. Method Man, born Clifford Smith Jr., is among the most recognisable voices in Wu-Tang Clan — a rapper of instinctive charisma whose crossover reach extended from hip-hop into film and television. His solo debut, Tical (1994), was the first Wu-Tang solo release and established him as a dominant presence beyond the group. This colour portrait was made during a group session with all six members, captured by Gavin Evans in the year of Wu-Tang Forever (1997).
