David Bowie #4 — A3 Fine Art Print by Gavin Evans, The Session 1995
David Bowie, photographed in London, July 1995 for Time Out magazine. This fine art photography print by Gavin Evans presents a black and white studio portrait of Bowie from David Bowie — The Session — his gaze averted from the camera, the composition spare and direct. The session was made with Brian Eno present and produced the shushing image that appeared on the covers of Rolling Stone, Paris Match, and Esquire, was selected by Bowie himself for the cover and final page of the V&A exhibition publication Bowie Is (2013), featured in Sotheby's auction catalogues, used by the Recording Academy at the 2017 Grammy Awards, and continues to be used in the promotion of Lazarus, Bowie's final theatrical work, which premiered in New York in 2015.
