Joe Strummer – A3 Fine Art Print by Gavin Evans
In this cinematic portrait of Joe Strummer, photographed by Gavin Evans in 1988 in London for Cut Magazine, the legendary frontman of The Clash is caught reaching into his jacket — to pull out a wallet, or perhaps a pistol? The moment is brooding and ambiguous.
As the co-founder and iconic voice of The Clash, Joe Strummer helped define the punk revolution of the late 1970s. With politically charged lyrics and a genre-bending mix of punk, reggae, and ska, his songs like “London Calling” and “Rock the Casbah” became anthems of protest and rebellion. Strummer’s untimely death in 2002 only amplified the urgency and legacy of his voice.
Printed as an open edition A3 giclée on 308 gsm satin matte, acid-free, archival cotton paper, this fine art print is embossed for authenticity and supplied unframed, ready for personal presentation and framing.
Part of the Icons Collection from ThePrintRoom.Berlin, this portrait offers a striking and playful moment of punk mythology.
